About the Festival

The German-Russian Documentary Film Festival “Territorium Film” takes place annually in Kaliningrad, Russia’s westernmost metropolis.

The festival’s main focus is Russian and German documentary filmmaking, along with the exchange among filmmakers. In addition, the festival features programs of short and animated films as well as conversations, talks, workshops and master classes.>>

«I admire you for creating a ‘territory’ where films may be shown that would not have made it to the cinema otherwise. It is precisely these films which bring us together. I am thinking here not only of nations, countries and societies, but also of each person individually. This is the invaluable advantage of gatherings such as the Kaliningrad Film Festival, whose sole ambition is to create a space where people can get to know each other better and recognise what is most beautiful in the other. That is what I cherish and hold dear about the festival. If you ask me, it is one of the most exciting festivals happening in Russia today.»
